Bless their hearts. Sounds like you were the "it" place to be in the neighborhood! I hope your neighbor realizes that the little tykes are roaming now and does something responsible about it...doesn't he have a shed/barn out back where he could pen them up till they're older?? Ah, well. They sound like cuties. If you need some puppy time, we have a cute little redhead here that is a total snuggle monster. :-)

We took her back. When I got home yesterday there were two little black puppies at my house. There are 8 puppies in the litter. The 2nd little puppy was smaller and also female...but she had one blue eye. She look more like the dad who is some type cattle dog/sled dog...who knows. But she was cute in her own way. Glenn said that we could manage one puppy but not two and for sure not eight. From what I understand they have been roaming the neighborhood and playing in the street. So, probably, there will not be eight very long.

Wow! Jax would love a buddy his size! I saw that chocolate lab momma when I dropped of your animals last weekend. That dilemma is a toughie. But I can bring some puppy food over tomorrow until you figure it out. :-) (However, if I was missing a puppy, I would be knocking door to door to find it - you don't even live a half mile away...)

Jax may have a new play buddy. Yesterday we were picking up a few limbs when it started to rain. We hurried to the shop to put the wagon up. Then we heard it. Yelping from a puppy sounded like it was nearby. Glenn thought it was from Mr. Jackson's way. He had just returned with his beagles. We followed the sound to the back of the shop. Their nestled under a pile of junk was a little black puppy. She was wanting her mommy. Needless to say, we saw no mommy. I picked her up and snuggled her close to warm her. Glenn proceeded to get the dog house out and fix it with a fuzzy rug and some old towels. Then he put the dog house under the table on the back patio. He feed her a few orts of adult dog food which she scarfed down. Glenn went back and checked on her numerous times. Her bedding was wet so he made a barrier out of trash bags and various other items. I tried to call Debbie to ask if she had seen the puppy around any of the houses nearby, but she did not answer. I was able to talk with Roger today and we believe that the puppy belongs to the chocolate lab that whelped her puppies during the ice storm. Now this is the dilema. Do we take this puppy back, where we know it will not have a good home, not be fed, probably get ran over in the street, or do we just adopt her. I hear Glenn coming home for the evening. We will see what he says.

Yes, he does look mopey in the pictures. Poor thing. We're hoping he'll be home by Friday now, according to Dr. Salley and his update this afternoon. Once we can get him home, he will be VERY spoiled for quite some time!

If you look into his eyes he looks like he doesn't feel well. Of course, it could have been from the long trip, or from taking him from the environment that he knew. I'm so glad that everything has worked out for the little guy. I'm sure he will be as spoiled as Dixon. I can't wait to see him.
We are having family portraits made May 2nd. You'll have to bring him for the photos.
